Use the code BUILD for 20% offThis new build home is typical of the kind of projects we support at CLPM. The project involved the demolition of a tired bungalow on a suburban plot and the construction of a new, 5 bedroom family home.
Our client’s architect approached us in the late design stage of the project when he and his client were struggling to find a suitable build team for the project. The client was developing the plot as an investment and was therefore keen to ensure that the build went smoothly and that he did everything he could to mitigate any financial risks. The planning permission also came with a series of conditions, so he wanted a close level of oversight to ensure that these were met.
We started liaising with our client’s architect and their Structural Engineer straight away. We started by carrying out a design review and then helped our clients arrange for the first stage of works – which involved the demolition of the bungalow and soil investigations.
Our Quantity Surveying team then collated all of the documentation required to tender the works and analysed the returns. We appointed the contractor and our Project Manager oversaw the works, visiting the site fortnightly as well as giving support and advice remotely. Our team also carried out monthly valuations in the role of Contract Administrator.
The house was completed on programme, and to a very high standard and as you can see is now a stunning family home.
In addition to our cost planning and project management services CLPM also provide independent energy efficiency and heating system advice.
