Our brief was to sympathetically restore and modernise this 17th Century, Grade ll listed former public house located within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The design also involved extensive demolition works of the unsympathetic 1970s additions to the property and the provision of new extensions to enhance the character and comfort of the home along with the provision of a new detached garage.
The house has being lovingly restored and extended to become a wonderful family home full of light and charm with the enhancement of a number of the original architectural features some of which were uncovered during the works.
This project forms phase 1 of a two-phase development of the site. The second phase is a contemporary new-build family home. Breathing new life into this building has been a pleasure. Along with many environmental upgrades we have secured a sustainable future for this heritage asset. The work was completed in October 2021.
