Greenspace Architects were commissioned to design an innovative and carefully crafted home that is fit for lifetime living standards. The design sees a modern approach to the open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room.
Working within Graven Hill we were able to create a house which ensured maximum views out to the landscape while also considering the quality of sunlight and daylight into the spaces. The plan provides the key views out by positioning the rooms away from the large tree which is positioned at the front of the house; this shift provides reaching views beyond the tree to the open fields beyond.
The success of this project is in the detail. We created a number of detailed drawings for the constructor and the client to view to ensure each of the contractors constructed each difficult junction carefully and accurately. SIPs contractor Point 1 Building Systems were heavily involved in the result, understanding the intent of the design and producing a Kingspan TEK frame that allowed the refined detailing to follow.
The features of the elements you cannot see is critical to the long-term performance of this self-build and guarantees the clients could achieve their aim of creating a low/zero carbon house which performs to a very high standard.
