Use the code BUILD for 20% offSurrey Basements were instructed to design and install a structural waterproofing system to 2 eco homes in Stockgrove Park. The builds were ICF (Insulated concrete formwork) structures and the types of waterproofing systems installed were external type A and internal type C.
Externally, a waterproofed mortar fillet was applied to the perimeter of the wall, slab junction with one coat of a liquid dpm applied to it.
Another coat of a liquid applied product was then applied to the full height of the external face of the perimeter walls before a geotextile system was installed in tandem with a land drain lapped over with the geotextile layers.
A lime inhibitor was applied to the new slab base to protect against free limes and leaching and blockage of the internal drainage system. The type C cavity drain membrane system was installed together with internal modular 110mm drainage pipework designed to remove surface water from the slab.
As the structure was built on a sloping site natural drainage via gravity was possible without the need for a pumping solution.
Following the full two system structural waterproofing installation the project was handed over to the principal contractor to continue with the following on works.
