Neil and Mary Gourlay have magaged to build a contemporary home that sits remarkably well within its stunning setting.
This is partly down to architect Mark Waghorn’s sensitive design but the use of stone and oak from the Gourlays own land goes a long way to enhancing the sense of belonging.
The property’s sustainable credentials are further bolstered by a wind turbine, ground source heat pump, solar thermal panels and wool insulation from the neighbouring farms.
Neil’s eye for detail has seen the house attain a five-star rating from Visit Scotland and a Gold Award from The Green Tourism Business Scheme.
