If you like the idea of an oak frame home but are unsure whether it’s the right self build route for you, then visiting a lived-in house and hearing the story behind it is likely to help you make up your mind.
The team at Oakwrights is hosting an open day in Suffolk, giving you the chance to meet self builders Rupert and Lindsay Osborn.
The couple is kindly opening the doors of their contemporary style home for two consecutive days.
Take a sneak peek:
Featuring large expanses of high-performance glass, this barn style oak home design was initially refused by the planners.
Luckily, a change to the National Planning Policy Framework years later meant the couple was able to build their dream home.
If you want to hear more about the Osborns story and explore the charm offered by oak frame, you can make an appointment through the Oakwrights website.
Appointments at Rupert and Lindsay’s home will be available from 10.30am until 2pm on April 13 & 14.
